Trader Joe's Haul #1

October 22, 2017

Hola! It's the weekend and I know a lot of us like to go grocery shopping during this not so hectic portion of our week. So I thought I'd share with you what bits and bobs I picked up at Trader Joe's while I was on vacation in Indianapolis.

Trader Joe's holds a special place in my heart! Unfortunately, I moved to Memphis and the closest TJ's is in Nashville (about 3 hours away). Whenever I'm around one of their locations I like to make sure I stock up on some goodies. They make most if not all of their products, so literally everything will say “Trader Joe’s” on the packaging. It’s honestly a great place to shop at. Super fun if you’re into food shopping 🛒 & trying out new stuff. They have many vegan options, even before I considered eating a 100% plant-based diet I tried many things that I are carnivore approved. So without further a due here’s my grocery haul.

I’ve seen the red lentil pasta on YouTube so it was on my shopping list. I randomly came across this vegan pesto. These two paired together... delicious!

I am not a fan of microwaveable food, but TJ’s is definitely a winner with this one! Back when I lived in Connecticut, I decided to pick this product up one day when I had no lunch at work and I fell in love. This will truly fool a carnivore into thinking this is real meat. I’m so happy they continue to carry this product.

I picked up this frozen meal as well and honestly I’m not a big fan of it. The jasmine rice was perfect, but the overpowering taste of lemon in this is just too much. If you don’t mind the taste of a whole lemon then this ones for you! I’ll stick to my tikka masala.

Cornbread crisps? Sign me up! These go great with so many dips. Definitely pick some of these up for your holiday get-togethers.

These brownie crisps are my favorite dessert from TJ’s. It’s a mix of a brownie and a cookie, but nothing even similar to either of the two. Perfect sized treat to satisfy your craving.

So, the YouTube foodies have been saying that TJ’s new vegan cheese shreds are not all that great. Errol and I tried these on some pizza and we both have different opinions. Though I liked the cheese, I feel it’s a bit too “slimy” on the roof of your mouth when it’s melted. TMI? I don't know, but I'd like to try their other version before dismissing their vegan cheeses entirely. Errol on the other hand loves it. Try it for yourself and let me know what you think?

Had to pick up some sweets for Errol. These snicker doodle cookies are his favorite. Also, he’s a big vanilla bean fan so I picked up these Halloween inspired cookies for him as well. Both have been picked into.

Before I went vegan I tried this mayo spread and I wasn't the biggest fan. Especially since I love mayo! I decided to purchase it and give it another try, so I'll let you know how it goes after I try it in some of my recipes. On the other hand, if you are ever at Trader Joe's and would like to get me a gift pick me up some COOKIE BUTTER! This stuff is insanely delicious. No explanation needed!

Last but not least, VEGAN MARSHMALLOWS! I was not expecting to come across these, but I’m so glad that I did. These will go perfect on my Thanksgiving and Christmas baked goods.

That’s all for now. Hopefully the alleged Trader Joe’s that is coming to Memphis will get here soon so I can shop here more. I sure do miss it, let's keep our fingers crossed! Have a great week and comment down below your favorite Trader Joe’s products.
