Happy Sunday folks! So this weekend for date night we made our way to the movies to see none other than Black Panther! I've never been happier for a movie being sold out night after night in it's premiere weekend than I have been for this film. Black Panther is the movie we've all been waiting for and have needed for a long time. Though it was released many years ago as a Marvel comic, now was the right time to release this as a live action film— to knock down barriers. We (minorites and people of color) have been fighting for equality since the beginning of time... but this century and these milennial years we have decided to stop taking the short end of the stick. We know our worth and demand the equality. This movie is so important for all black men and women of all ages. This is the superhero we have been waiting for! Someone to look up too and say "Wow! He looks just like me." I can't even begin to tell you the importance of being able to relate to someone in film or television, the amazing feeling you get when you see someone that looks like you doing great things and can finally find someone to look up too. This film is beautifully filmed and the graphics are insanely gorgeous, and don't even get me started on how amazing Danai Gurira was! I have really high hopes for the future, and this film is adding positive thoughts to that hope. I am so excited for the future and looking forward to seeing more inclusivity and solidarity. We deserve representation and I am thankful that the more we speak up the more we get it. One day when I have children they will be able to see someone on the big screen that looks like their two fathers, or someone who has brown skin like they do, or speaks Spanish and English, or just someone that they can relate too; because that my friend is what we call being inclusive. If you haven't seen Black Panther yet, I highly recommend it. I won't ruin it for you, but just know that it's amazing and you will not be disappointed! Hope you all had a great weekend and have a great week! Remember to spread love and awareness wherever you go, we all could use some more of it.
Love and peace,
